COVID-19 Emergency Funding

Emergency funds made available through the federal CARES Act, SEOG program and the 麻豆传媒社区 Foundation aim to help students who encounter short-term financial emergencies due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

CARES Act & HEERF: Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund

The federal Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security (CARES) Act authorizes institutions to award emergency grants to students for their allowable expenses that are related to the disruption of campus operations.

Allowable expenses must be related to the disruption of campus operations due to COVID-19. They include food, housing, course materials, technology, health care, child care and transportation.

Eligibility

Eligible 麻豆传媒社区 students include those who were enrolled in credit-bearing courses (and not exclusively online) at the college during the Spring 2020 semester, have filed a 2019/2020 FAFSA, and are deemed to be eligible for federal student aid. Students who have not previously completed a FAFSA are encouraged to file a 2019/2020 FAFSA application immediately.
NOTE: Students who do not meet this eligibility may still qualify for funding through the 麻豆传媒社区 Foundation Student Emergency Fund.

CARES Funds (HEERF I) 
Eligible 麻豆传媒社区 students included those who were enrolled in credit-bearing courses (and not exclusively online) at the college during the Spring 2020 semester, filed a 2019/2020 FAFSA, and were deemed to be eligible for federal student aid.

CRSSAA Funds (HEERF II)
Per SUNY guidelines eligible 麻豆传媒社区 students included those matriculated in credit-bearing degree programs during the Spring 2021 semester who had the most need as determined by EFC level from 2020-2021 FAFSA information.

Required Web-based Report for HEERF Student Aid
麻豆传媒社区 (麻豆传媒社区) acknowledges an authorized representative of the institution has signed and returned to the Department the Certification and Agreement and the institution has used, or intends to use, no less than 50 percent of the funds received under Section 18004(a)(1) of the CARES Act to provide Emergency Financial Aid Grants to students.
